RUB IT OUT is a zine exploring the history, function, and personal memories associated with the everyday object of an eraser, particularly the Pentel Hi-Polymer eraser, which I have used since I was sixteen.
Inspired by childhood memories of collecting eraser crumbs and turning them into small sculptures, I experimented with using these crumbs to create typography, eventually recreating their texture and form with clay. The publication uses the distinctive blue of the Pentel eraser's packaging throughout.
The zine explores how something as ordinary as an eraser can become more than a tool for correcting mistakes, transforming into a material for play, experimentation, and creativity.
